Akhilandeshvari (film)
SYNOPSIS
Maria, a Goan-American mourning her late father, arrives in Goa with a claim to ancestral lands in the mountains of the Western Ghats, but her estranged cousins are ready to put up a fight. As Maria sets out to find proof to her claim, complicated legacies of Goa’s colonial past leak into the present. In three interconnected stories, set in 16th century Goa, 19th century Mozambique, and the present day, Maria and her ancestors reach for one another across the vastness of time and geography.
