Synopsis
(5 performers) "Will you stretch out your hand and hold the earth up?" A children's game of keep-off-the-floor turns into an epic story of sea level rise, ocean acidification, and the (re)beginning of the world. Vishnu's second incarnation Kurma, the giant turtle who holds a mountain on his back, asks audiences to imagine themselves as part of a hopeful future for our common home.

KURMA was written and performed as part of Studio Theatre's Directing Cohort 2018-19 on January 28, 2019 at Studio Theatre in Washington, DC. Featuring Tuyet Pham, Stan Kang, Pimmie Juntranggur, Jeremy Kieth Hunter, and Nina McQuown.
